Activities to boost your child’s communication skills

Hungry Little Minds is a campaign by the Department for Education (DfE). It gives simple, fun activities to boost children's communication, language and literacy skills.

Children soak up every little bit of stimulation you can give them. It could be a book, a magazine or even a shopping list. They love it when you chat, play and read with them, even when they’re too young to understand everything. All these little things can make a big difference in their speech and understanding of words.

Whatever the time and wherever you are, you can turn almost anything into a game. And every little thing you do together will help set them for the day they start school.
