Apply for 30 hours childcare for your 9 months to 2-year-old

30 hours is available to foster carers. You will need to apply and reconfirm with your social worker instead of the online application.

To be eligible, you must be in paid work outside your foster carer role. If you are a two-parent foster family, your partner must also be in paid work outside their foster carer role. You do not have to work a minimum number of hours or earn a minimum amount. However, your adjusted net income must be £100,000.

If you are a family where only one person is the approved foster carer, then:

• The approved foster carer must be in paid work outside their foster carer role.
• The partner (of the foster carer) must be in paid work and earn at least the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage for 16 hours a week.
• The adjusted net income must be under £100,000 for each parent.
