Engagement with families and carers

HAF providers engage with families and carers of children attending HAF clubs. They do this through the food education, signposting and referrals aspect of their clubs.

HAF providers are supported to do this through:

  • Signposting information included in HAF activity booklets distributed to children attending HAF clubs.
  • Providers can also signpost parents/carers towards the HAF digital signposting toolkit. This was developed in collaboration with other Council teams. It acts as a one stop shop for support information locally.
  • HAF providers have also found that many children and families return to HAF clubs each delivery period. This is because of the positive relationships they have formed with the families attending.
