Better leisure centres

Discounted Better Leisure membership is available in Chiltern and South Bucks to full-time students.

Wycombe leisure card

The Wycombe leisure card is free to Wycombe residents and gives discounts on local leisure centre activities and priority booking.

If you live in another district you buy the card. Prices vary by age.

The Wycombe area also offers Free Access for National Sportspeople (FANS).

The scheme gives free access to leisure centres for training and development at designated off-peak times.

You'll be eligible if you're

  • a member of a national team or squad recognised by Sport England
  • listed in the current top ten of any national age group ranking of a sport recognised by Sport England

Yoti CitizenCard

The Yoti CitizenCard is an ID card that you can use as proof of age.

It also gets you reduced travel on some buses within Buckinghamshire including:

  • Arriva
  • Carousel
  • Langston & Tasker
  • Redline
  • Red Eagle
  • Red Rose Travel
  • Star Travel
  • Z&S Transport

The card must be shown to the driver when you buy your ticket and it's valid after 9am weekdays and all day at weekends and bank holidays.

The bus journey must be entirely within Buckinghamshire, except the X60 Aylesbury - Buckingham - Milton Keynes routes.

Depending on your age you'll get a card that proves you're:

  • 18 plus
  • 16 to 17
  • Under 16

Young person railcards

16 to 25 year olds can get a 1/3 off anytime and off-peak train fares with the 16 to 25 railcard.

26 to 30 year olds can also get a 1/3 off most off-peak rail fares with the 26 to 30 railcard.

If you have a pay as you go oyster card you can get your railcard linked to it so you automatically get a reduced fare when eligible.

Discount Oyster cards

Children and young people can get Oyster photocards for the London Underground which gives free or discounted travel across the network.

5-10 Zip Oyster photocards

11-15 Zip Oyster photocards

16+ Zip Oyster photocard

18+ Student Oyster photocard (if you live in a London borough during term)

If you're not eligible for these Oyster cards but have a railcard, you could get your railcard link with your standard pay as you go Oyster card so you'll automatically get a reduced fare when eligible.

Take your railcard and Oyster card to a member of station staff at a London Underground station.

Coachcard

The National Express Coachcard gives 16 to 26-year-olds or full-time students, a 1/3 off standard and Fully Flexible fares. It also gives 15% off travel to events and festivals.

Student discounts

Student discounts are offers on a product or service exclusively for students studying at school, college or university in the UK. Discounts for students tend to be a percentage off the total price, but could also include offers such as free trials or buy-one-get-one-free.
