Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

Buckinghamshire Council has to make sure there's sufficient childcare for parents who are working, studying or training. The Childcare Act 2006 sets this out.

We also have to publish a report each year called a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment. The Children and Families Act 2014 sets this out. Our Childcare Sufficiency Assessment looks at:

  • what we're doing to make sure there is sufficient childcare
  • any gaps and our plan to address these
  • the impact of legislative changes
  • how the take-up of the 30 hours offer can impact childcare availability or provision
