Apply for 30 hours childcare for your 3 or 4-year old
Check your eligibility and apply for 30 hours childcare
You could get 30 hours childcare if you (and your partner, if you have one) are in work and earn at least the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage for 16 hours a week on average. If you or your partner have an expected adjusted net income of over £100,000 in the current tax year, you will not be eligible.
You’ll also get 30 hours if:
- you’re on sick leave or annual leave
- you’re on shared parental, maternity, paternity or adoption leave
- if one person is working and the other cannot work because they are disabled, have caring responsibilities or have been assessed as having limited capability to work
- if you're newly self-employed (called the ‘start-up period’). You do not need to demonstrate that you meet the income criteria for 12 months
If you’re eligible, you will then be directed to the place to apply and create a childcare account.
If you need assistance to apply, or are experiencing problems with the online application process, you can contact the Childcare Service helpline.
