Love Exploring app

Are you looking for something fun to do this October half-term? Several creepy characters are returning to Bucks this half-term and you and the family can go on the lookout for them in our local parks using your mobile phone and the Love Exploring App.

The free app lets you explore the local area, parks and green spaces, whilst hunting for characters using augmented reality games. Answer questions in the fun quizzes, and even have your photo taken with a dancing skeleton.

Fancy dress fire safety

Young children love to dress up, whether for a special occasion like Halloween or simply playing around the house. Unfortunately, fancy dress clothing has been involved in several serious accidents.

Dress-up clothing can burn rapidly when accidentally ignited by contact with an open flame, such as a candle, open flame, or sparkler. Children are especially vulnerable when playing without adult supervision.

To keep safe this Halloween, follow the advice set out by ROSPA;

  • check all Halloween and fancy dress costumes you buy carry a UKCA or UKNI mark on the label
  • keep clothing away from fire, lit candles, and all other naked flames
  • always supervise young children
