You are invited to our SEND High Support Needs workshops

We hope you can join us and be part of shaping a better future for families and children with high support needs.

Families and parents/carers are invited to participate in High Support Needs Workshops aimed at gathering experiences to improve services for children and young people with significant support needs.

Sessions are available online and in-person, providing a respectful space for sharing insights to guide future developments, with a focus on collective feedback rather than individual cases.

Who are the workshops for

These workshops are specifically for parents and carers of children or young people with high support SEND needs.

A child with high support needs may require extra help with:

  • health
  • learning
  • daily care
  • getting along with others

Often, it’s a mix of these areas.

These needs might be present from birth due to a medical or developmental condition. Sometimes, they develop over time, especially if the child didn’t get the right support early on. Without early help, small challenges can grow into bigger ones.

Children with high support needs usually need regular help to do everyday things, such as:

  • getting dressed
  • staying safe
  • learning at school
  • managing emotions
  • they may need this support more often or more intensively than other children their age

What to expect

  • A safe and respectful space to share your journey
  • Opportunities to highlight both positive and challenging experiences
  • Interactive tools like Mentimeter and verbal feedback
  • A focus on learning from past experiences to inform future improvements
  • Input from our newly formed High Support Needs team

Note: Please be aware that these sessions are designed to gather collective insights rather than address individual cases. Our goal is to move forward together based on the shared perspectives we gather.
