What we have done, what has happened as a result, and what we will do next.
What we have done in 2024 to 2025
- Launched the national Prevention and Diversion assessment tool, providing training to all practitioners
- Commissioned a staff well-being session, run by an external charity
- Delivered workshops on Cultural Competency to all staff
- Introduced the team and the Board to the new Inspection framework requirements
- Actively celebrated and promoted national and cultural events to raise awareness of community diversity
- Trained staff on gender awareness
- Increased skillset of practitioners through the delivery of training on working with parents
What has happened as a result
- Children are assessed in line with national requirements
- Evidence within assessments and intervention delivery of greater cultural understanding and gender awareness
- A whole service approach to persons harmed is being actively embedded
What we will do next
- Deliver training to staff on working with children and families where English may not be their first language
- Develop a workshop for staff to support their understanding of the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities
- Supporting practitioners in engaging families with multiple needs, focusing on professional boundaries to empower those we work with
