Fair Futures for Young Carers’ pledge
Young Carers Action Day 2026: Pledge your support
Caring should never limit a young person’s choices or future.
For Young Carers Action Day, we are asking schools, professionals, employers and local partners across Buckinghamshire to support fair futures for all young carers.
Young carers do a lot at home. Many balance caring responsibilities with school, friendships and everyday life. With understanding, flexibility and the right support, young carers can thrive.
Without support, caring can become a barrier. It can make learning, social life and future opportunities harder to access. By working together, we can remove these barriers and help create brighter futures for young carers.
Buckinghamshire Council pledges
Key Children’s Services partners at the Council made meaningful pledges of support for Young Carers, inspired by artwork that powerfully expresses their lived experiences.
Sarah Ashmead – Interim Chief Executive
Thank you for sharing all this brilliant, creative work - it really tells us about your kindness, courage, and the responsibilities that you carry every day. Your voice matters, and we will always listen to you.
Councillor Carl Jackson – Education and Children’s Services Lead Member
I was very impressed by the creative and powerful artwork produced by the young carers. They do an amazing job supporting their families, and the artwork brilliantly reflects their experiences, their worries, and their hopes for the future.
