Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children may help with the extra costs of looking after a child who is under 16 and has difficulties walking or needs much more looking after than a child of the same age who does not have a disability.
Family Fund
Family Fund supports families living across the UK who are raising a disabled or seriously ill child or young person up to the age of 17.
Their support is focused on those on low incomes with a child who has a high level of additional support needs.
They provide grants for a range of essential items.

Social Care Direct Payments
Social care direct payments are for children who have severe and profound needs and require specialist support, and have had a child and family assessment which identifies a child’s unmet need.

CHAT Children's Respite Charity
CHAT Children's Respite Charity is a small charity based in Aylesbury who support families in Buckinghamshire with children who have special needs.
CHAT is able to fund grant applications from families for short term respite care in the children's own home.
