Key Facts

  • Increase in specialist SEND clubs countywide from 5 to 8.
  • Increase in number of HAF club locations from an average of 41 in 2022/23 to an average of 48 in 2023/24.
  • Increase in the total number of HAF places attended by eligible children and young people from 17,669 in 2022/23 to 21,436 in 2023/24. Growth of 21%).
  • Increase in the number of individual participants attending HAF clubs over the year with 1,509 at Easter, 2,496 in Summer and 1,590 at Christmas, showing solid growth in the reach of the programme.
  • Two Christmas family pantomime and meal events, coordinated in collaboration with Action 4 Youth.
  • 630 take-home nature-based wellbeing activity packs distributed to HAF-funded children via HAF clubs and sent directly to families, continuing to help support children’s wellbeing through nature and the outdoors.
  • 450 take-home vegetable growing packs funded by Buckinghamshire Council’s Public Health team distributed amongst 14 providers delivering in priority Bucks wards.
  • Balanceability sessions were delivered to 280 children aged 4 to 7 across 14 locations throughout Buckinghamshire, teaching them the basics of riding a bike.
  • Additional enriching activities funded by the HAF programme have allowed children and young people to experience out-of-the-ordinary activities such as a roaming farm, beatbox workshops, a gaming bus, magic workshops and Zorb activities.
  • 31 overnight camping stays for families of those with SEND.
  • Introduction of HAF’s centralised booking system making it easier for parents to see and book all HAF providers in one place.
