Child exploitation
Reporting concerns and getting help
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of a child call 999.
Recognising and reporting concerns
If you believe that you/your child is being exploited it is important to get help and to report it. Make sure that you start by talking to someone that you trust. This could be a parent/carer, professional or friend.
You can report an exploitation concern by:
- Calling 101 to report information to the police
- Calling CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111 to report anonymously
- Reporting sexual abuse taking place online with Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP)
- Calling Children's Social Care on 01296 383 962 (or 0800 999 7677 out of hours)
If you are a parent/carer and are concerned that a child may be being exploited, you can contact the Missing and Exploitation Team. This is a specialist team who can offer advice and support without any referrals. This advice is anonymous so no personal details are required.
Please email [email protected] with your phone number if you wish to talk to a member of the team. We will aim to contact you within 1 working day to arrange a suitable time to discuss further.
