Frogmoor Funds

Frogmoor Funds help 16 to 25s with the cost of:
- full-time further or higher education courses
- research scholarships
- educational visits abroad
Frogmoor Funds can also be bursaries towards the cost of equipment you need to enter a trade or profession.
The funding is provided by the Frogmoor Foundation charity but Buckinghamshire Council is responsible for applications and administration.
To apply for Frogmoor Foundation Funds, read our application guidance and then request an application form from the Adult Learning Finance Team.
- Buckinghamshire Council is responsible for the administration of the Frogmoor Foundation, a charity registered under the Charities Act. It provides funding towards full-time courses of further or higher education, research scholarships, help with the cost of educational visits abroad and bursaries towards the cost of equipment required for entry to a trade or profession.
- Applications for aid from the Frogmoor Foundation Fund are considered in accordance with the appropriate type of funding detailed below.
- To be eligible for financial help from the Frogmoor Fund, you must:
- Be aged over 16 on 31 August in the year for which assistance is required, and must not become 25 during the period of the funding.
- Have received approved full-time education to the age of 16 or part-time education for at least two years after leaving school.
- Be ordinarily resident in Buckinghamshire on 31 August in the year of application.
- You must be a first-time applicant to be eligible for the Frogmoor Fund. This means you must not have benefited from the Frogmoor Fund before.
- The application form should be completed by the student and by the parent(s)/legal guardian/spouse/cohabiting partner.
- The form must be submitted before the deadline of 30 September 2025. The form should be emailed to alfinanceadmin@buckinghamshire.gov.uk or posted to the following address: The Trustees of the Frogmoor Foundation Fund, Buckinghamshire Adult Learning Centre, Off Lincoln Park, Stanley Hill, Amersham, Buckinghamshire HP7 9HH
- If it is not possible to submit the form before the start of the course, please provide a full explanation.
- Circumstances may arise where the applicant cannot, or is unable to, submit the application through the parent(s)/legal guardian/spouse/cohabiting partner. In such instances, a full explanation must be given in an accompanying letter.
- You will be required to provide identification so your identity can be verified.
- You will be required to provide evidence of income, for example, a P60. Photocopies will be acceptable.
- Please provide a detailed statement of the cost of the course proposed, or a list of requirements in the case of a bursary.
- The Trustees will treat all information given on the application form as strictly confidential.
Exhibitions towards full-time study
- Value Available: Between £300 and £600
- Maximum Duration: 2 years
- Purpose: Any approved full-time course of further or higher education at a university, college or other approved establishment
Research Scholarship
- Value Available: Between £300 and £600
- Maximum Duration: 1 year
- Purpose: Any approved post-diploma or degree course at a university, college or other approved establishment
Travelling Scholarship
- Value Available: Between £150 and £300
- Maximum Duration: 3 months
- Purpose: Any approved study or educational visit abroad
Bursaries
- Value Available: Between £30 and £150
- Maximum Duration: Not applicable
- Purpose: Help towards the cost of outfits, clothing, tools, instruments or books required specifically for entry into a trade, profession or calling
