HAF Annual Report 2025/26
Plans for 2026/27
Throughout the 2026/27 programme, we aim to:
- continue expanding the programme’s overall reach
- strengthen its impact on eligible families
The intention is to further maximise the budget allocated to Buckinghamshire. We will streamline processes and offer a higher number of high-quality places each delivery period. This will be achieved by working with trusted local providers.
Ofsted registration remains a focus point. Identified providers are being supported to apply for Ofsted. This opens up opportunities to:
- become part of Buckinghamshire’s Wraparound and Breakfast Club agendas
- enable them to make use of Tax-free childcare
- encouraging sustainable practices
Buckinghamshire’s involvement in a peer network with neighbouring local authorities, including helps ensure the programme continues to learn from regional approaches while adapting ideas to Buckinghamshire’s local context. This is achieved through sharing of effective practice and common challenges. Peer networks with other local authorities include Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Luton.
Wider changes to the programme are being implemented. There is a stronger emphasis on collaborative projects with wider council teams to engage vulnerable groups in a more targeted way. Alongside this, expansion of the popular family events is in process. This enables families to access HAF together, increasing cultural capital.
Work is also underway to continue improving the Holiday Activities booking system, including the introduction of an app. This will make it easier for parents to:
- book sessions
- receive reminders
- cancel places if they can no longer attend.
