Vaccinations for children and young people with SEND

Vaccines are the safest way to protect children and young people from serious diseases. They also help protect other people who cannot have certain vaccines. For example, children with weakened immune systems.

Guidance is available to help parents and carers understand the importance and benefits of vaccinations for children and young people with SEND. It aims to:

  1. address many of the queries and concerns raised by parents and carers of children with SEND
  2. provide practical advice and information on how to prepare for an immunisation appointment
  3. provide information on what to expect with Vaccinations
  4. understand where to find accurate, reliable and trusted sources of information on vaccinations
