Buckinghamshire Youth Justice Strategic Plan 2026 to 2029
Section 1: Celebrating success, what we have achieved
What we have achieved through our work with children, young people, families and communities across Buckinghamshire.
- Reduced the number of first-time entrants into the youth justice system
- Significantly increased the number of persons harmed offered support by the service
- Played an active role in out-of-court resolution scrutiny panels, ensuring appropriate outcomes for children
- Children have interviewed YJST job candidates, designing their own questions
- Identified creative approaches to presenting the voice of persons/communities harmed
- Collaborated with children to develop the service through the YP4All Participation group
- Delivered YJST introduction training to council staff to raise awareness of services
- Embedded the principles of Restorative Justice across Buckinghamshire, including peer facilitator training in schools
