Supporting your child's school journey

6. School Years 10 and 11

School years 10 and 11 are for children aged fourteen to sixteen years old and is the next phase of your child's school journey in secondary school, also known as Key Stage 4 (KS4).
What to expect
School years 10 and 11 will be when you:
- take your GCSEs
- have exams
- decide what you are going to do after year 11
Getting prepared for exams
Exam time can be really stressful, but there are things you can do to help you feel less stressed and more prepared including:
- finding a revision technique that works for you
- putting a plan together
- familiarising yourself with the exam arrangements
- looking after your mental health, don't spend all of your time studying
